How do we group living things?
Like grouping books, we look for what's the same about a group of living things.

Before Linnaeus, there wasn't any system.

The Bible talked about kinds of living things, but sometimes it meant a species,
like cattle, and sometimes it meant a group, like creatures that move.

Since Linnaeus, we look carefully at the creatures themselves.

The way living things are classified keeps changing as we find out more.

Some of the main groups are animals, plants, fungi and bacteria.

Sea anemone	Nautilus	Leaf insect	Angelfish	Panda

These are all animals. Animals live by eating other living things.
